Hi there, after playing some days with JomSocial I have not found, or I missed, a simple way to add profile fields for uploading images or files. So I began to develop some util classes which does exactly what we want. Once you have copied the files to the correct location you should be able to select new field types accessing JomSocial´s “Custom profiles” section of your Joomla! site.

Actually (JomSocial 1.5.x) your field types defined in customfields.xml must be unique, otherwise only the first is selectable. Each file profile type belongts to a set of allowed file types, the first one for example allows uploading images, the second one just PDF documents and so on.
